Amsterdam speaks for itself. Depends on personal interest. Drugs and parties are not my life. I really enjoyed the opportunity to row in a club on the Amstel though.

try to avoid crowded places like Paradiso or Melkweg. Try to look for yourself for less known clubs or parties: they are the best.

I would recommend Café Alto for jazz lovers (no fee) and Cristofori for both jazz and classical (the owners are really friendly).
