University of Adelaide

The university unfortunately does not offer campus living. It does have affiliate college residences, but these are more expensive. If budget is your primary concern, you can save more if you settle in international hostels, apartments or homestays located in the suburbs.

Many cafes to choose from at Rundle Street, which is just a block across the uni. For gustatory delight, don't miss the Central Market--a feast for the eyes and tummy, and truly multicultural!

The city holds the Festival of the Arts and the Fringe Festival every two years; likewise it also celebrate the Festival of Ideas, for intellectual stimulation. International intercultural competency though is honed with interaction with other international students. Local students tend to be indifferent to foreign students. Adelaide can be quiet, but there's much to do if you know how to invest your time.

Beer is A$2; at Planet, you can have it for $1 during the happy hours.

The Aussies chew and mumble their words. Their accent is totally out of the world. It took me three months to finally get used to their slangs. No worries, mate!
