I wish I had known...
Availability of church information and christian life in general. More information through the Internation Student Centre (at the time I was applyin/joining the university there was a transition - staffing, otherwise at the moment things are in place)

The most important thing I learnt about New Zealand is that "Kiwis" are a great people; great in the sense that they are VERY friendly ( for instance racism is not entertained). In fact when one is from a different country everyone would like to get closer and learn more about one's country - the reason being that most New Zealanders have not been to many other countries, so they are curious.

Since i am not much into nightlife i would rather take a walk in the city or go for long drives the coutry side is the best place for drives place outside, food they have many good indian , turkish and chinese resturants and take aways. I like to try new things and dont restrict to same taste so canot advice one special place but dish ofcourse the best kiwi food would be beef steak.

New Zealand is waaaaaaaay less expensive than London. What we pay 5 pounds for, they pay five dollars for and one pound is worth three dollars! Travel is more expensive though, I guess because everywhere is further away. And it's cheaper to book ahead which is diff to England.

The strip in Chch was quite good. Going from massive London to tiny Chch was a bit of a change - allof NZ doesn't have as many ppl as London - but they still know how to have fun. Rugby games - especially ones involving the Canterbury Crusaders are a must.
