The UK is expensive, so expect higher prices in everything, but do take advantage of student prices, which help a lot, plus ask english students where to buy cheap stuff, like there is in Colchester a place called One pund shop and you can get lots of stuff for one pound.

Personal comments
Transport is REALLY expensive, prepare to pay three times what you pay at home for a normal ride on the bus. That´s why its great to live on campus, you dont use it that much, at least not daily to get to your classes.

Personal comments
The accomodation in the towers was a bit uncomfortable, since each flat had 16 rooms in 16 storey buildings built at the same time with the University. The Houses on the other hand are very modern small flats with 4-6 people in them. The cleaning service that did all communal spaces every day and the rooms every week, day was a big plus!

Personal spending habits
Food is fairly cheap is you shop efficiently and don't eat from Happy Days Diner every day. This also helps to prevent obesity and coronary heart problems. Telephones are provided in each room, which can be used to call other campus phones. Towers accommodation is cheap, others are slightly more expensive. Bus travel fairly expensive but cheap student year tickets are available, and train tickets can be booked in advance for reasonable rates.

Academic
Course recommendations
Courses were good, high level, and a lot of personal work for the students, the essays you have to write are not that hard but can be demanding in terms of the research you need to do.

Academic life is ok, it leaves you the opportunity to choose how and when you want to work, but then if you dont work at all you´ll be failing for sure.

Personal recommendation
There are many aspects I recommend about this university like the good level of teaching, the geographical location and the weather itself was not rainy as expected, but most of all the human experience and the opportunity to live and study with foreign students which I think is one of the main aspect I appreciated and from which I learned new culture and a more open attitude of my character in general.

Final comments
For havinf helpuful advice before arriving, I found extremely kind and disposable the university office in charge with the relation with foreigh students. Then for arraging travel and activities in the university there are travel agency and student organisations that help you.
