University of Kent at Canterbury (UKC)

After the 2nd week, taking note in classes, initially the major difficulty, became much simpler.

Mainly for those not coming from Scandinavia, Finland, maybe Austria and Switzerland, England and especially this part of the country, is very expensive.

Canterbury is a fine but small city. For those demanding the "big life" of a big city it may become too small. On the other hand London is only 1 hour 45' away. Going to the Continent, mainly France, Belgium and The Netherlands, is very easy and not too expensive: Paris and Brussels are around 3 hours away. Not entirely unimportant, the weather here is much better than in other regions of GB.

Woody's is a nice Studt. Union run pub. The Venue (Univ. club/disco) should improve the music selection.

The campus is set in a very nice environment and my room was big enough (unfortunately not like some other rooms on campus). On the less positive side I have to point out the fact that in the area of the campus i am living in there is not a of a place to peacefully watch TV, chat with friends or receive visitors: social life has to take place in the kitchen. Other less positive details include the little efficiency of the cleaning ladies and the size of the fridge/freezer, very obviously too little for 5 people.
