The exchange rate killed me. The British pound is currently worth twice as much as an American dollar. The prices in Britain are similar to America except replace the American price tag with a pound sign, therefore making goods twice as much in the UK. At home, my mother usually cooks and buys groceries. Also, my mobile phone in the US was by contract versus the pay-as-you-go mobile I owned in the UK. My housing at my home university cost half as much as the one in the UK but with superior facilities. Travel was the cheapest; a flight to a nearby city in the US can cost around 200-300 dollars for a cheap flight. However, I flew to three different cities (Barcelona, Eindhoven and Rome) for only 100USD each. Overall, the whole experience was more expensive due to the declining value of the dollar.

Luton is very good for nightlife. Many clubs and bars. There is one place which i really liked called Charlie Brown's. It was a spanish and greek club. Very cheap and very nice. All different nationalities would go there. It would fill up at about 2 in the morning and party till about 6-7am.
Recommended night out!
