Accomodation is more expensive in USA than Spain. Telephone is cheaper, just because I only use it as local telephone (so it's free), and to call my family in Europe I use Internet (Netmeeting), that it's also free.

Overall
I wish I had known...
For an European person, living in USA is a nice experience itself; I've got the opportunity to learn a different way of life from other people, I think there are no words no show how wonderful it is.

Though it is not a very known campus (as Harvard, GeorgeTown, ecc), it's located in the Washington DC area, you're in one of the most important cities in USA. I strongly recommend this university, my experience is being so good.

Final comments
The University of Maryland has the UM Shuttle, a free bus for students, that takes you almost everywhere. There is also a Metro Station (track), so, arriving to Washington DC Mall takes only 15 minutes.
The Study Abroad Time is really very very helpful, they will take care for you at the beginning, just to show you how everything works (trains, buses, shopping, night life... anything you can imagine).

Personal comments
The Washington DC's downtown is the best night area to visit at night, but it's important not to go alone, look for citizenship friends, because they better know exactly where to go. Networking is very important to have fun!!!

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Just to study, it is the best option, because you don't have to look for transportation, you don't need a car, and so on. And price and equipment is also very convenient.
