Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
On campus housing was fine and everything was pretty close. The downside was the immense cost and the strict rules. I would recommend coming 1-2 weeks earlier and looking for either appartment style housing or contact an outgoing exchange student for a sublease agreement of his/her flat.

Personal comments
Very clean, spacious, well equipped appartment style on campus facility (Riverbend Commons). Very safe: 24h guards, keycards, locks on ever individual room. There is a computer lab and TV room, broadband internet in every room.

The Riverbend Commons dormitory is well equipped and very clean. The Carlson School of Management and the Recreation Center are within a walking distance of 10 minutes.

The Carlson School is a very good business school, try to do as many courses you can and always do the assignments/readings for them.

The exchange couldn't have been better. I met many interesting people from all over the world. Plan ahead, because time passes very quickly on an exchange (especially travel). Travel much and don't hesitate to approach others - they are mostly very friendly and open minded.

Personal spending habits
Travelling is naturally an important part of the experience when abroad. I spent more money for food because in FInland it is very cheap to eat at the University which was not the case in the U of M.
