Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I lived with 3 others. One man was Dutch and the other 2 were German. It was a fantastic international experience. We lived 5 minutes from the Bondi Beach and 5 minutes (by bus) from the city center. The house was spacious, with a beautiful back yard and balcony. And it came at a reasonable price!

Personal comments
The housing at the University was diffucult to obtain. When I arrived the housing was already packed, but that was certainly okay with me.

I wish I had known...
How amazing and inexpensive trips to New Zealand and Cairns were so that I could have possibly budgeted for them.

If you are even thinking about going, do it! There is nothing about this experience that you will regret except that you don't have the time/money to stay longer! You will learn more about yourself than you can imagine.

This university has many things to offer: great schools for law, media, and economics, a social experience, and a great introduction into the environment, culture, and other exchange students.

Be sure to choose the right courses for you. Sometimes lectures get pretty boring if you don´t like the subject you chose.

Sydney has a wealth of night spots in all areas of the city. Thursday night is Uni night around most places and is very big for students. My personal favorite bar to go before going out later at night would be Bar Ace on the corner of Liverpool and George Streets. This bar offers a very moderately priced happy hour between 5 and 11PM every night.

In Coogee you cannot miss the Coogee bay hotel (where you can eat a wonderful barbeque cooked by yourself! and have a drink listening nice music) and the Palace (a pub on the beach, once a week you had the chance not to pay for your drink! 'toss the boss' is called: you play with a coin- head or tail- and hope to have good luck!)
