I joined the frisbee team, which was amazing as I got to travel to tournaments all around the East Coast! Greene Street is a good club downtown, along with N Club. And for ountry/westen Arizona Pete's is fun!
For spring break, the High Tide Frisbee tournament is awesome!

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
In the first semester, it was ideal to live on campus to meet new people. But as I made more friends, I thought that living outwith the University grounds would be exciting and different. As most of my friends were juniors and seniors, not many of them lived on campus still and therefore I was alwayts travelling to their houses.

I found living in dorms and exciting experience. Having never shared a room beofre, it was intersting to me to see how I would cope with living with another person in such close quarters. It was amazing! I had a brilliant time, and it was good to have someone else there. I could not live for an extended time in the dorms, but for a year it was perfect!

Academic
Course recommendations
The marketing courses there are the best I have ever experienced! The professors could not be more helpful. International Marketing is a very challenging, but VERY interseting and useful elective.

I think the course over there is amazing. I can hardly think of improvements - maybe just more information on courses when picking from your home university.

Overall
I wish I had known...
I wish that I had been more aware to the extent to which North Carolina is in the 'Bible Belt'. It was an eye-opening and very interesting experience for me to live there - however, there were a lot of cultural/moral issues that I did not expect.
I also wish I had known how important it is to have a car there, public transport is not very widespread.

Personal recommendation
It si not the biggest party University, but it does have a good balance of work/play! The Internatuional Programme Centre is an amazing resource and should be used to its full extent

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
The native language in North Carolina is English, as it is in Glasgow. Therefore I found it very easy to communicate with the other students! The students that came from non-English speaking countries had to have basic undestanding to study at UNCG.
