I wish I had known...
I would have liked to have had more information about the specific courses, because the registration for them was quite hectic.

I can only recommend it. Yet, there is the downside that Waterloo/Cedar Falls is a relatively small town (at least in American standards - approx. 100 000+), which means that life outside campus could be more interesting other places. Yet, this also gives you an extra incentive to travel while you are there.

The closest really big city is Chicago, and it is definately not to be missed. Takes about five hours by car to get there.

I wish I had known...
The campus is really in countryside... I'm from Paris and I wish I could have known it was so lost!

People are nice and the capital of Iowa is not too far. However, Des Moines is also a kind of little city. Its Art Museum is really really great! You have to visit it and its garden!

I didn't go to UNI but the website doesn't recognize small colleges, so I can't choose that one

Honest to goodness, I want to apply for a job on here, which required making an account, and in order to apply for a premium job, I had to write a review for my university. Unfortunately for this review's relevance, the drop-down menu doesn't offer "Coe College" to me as a choice, so I picked UNI instead. I have friends who went there for grad school and loved it.

Coe College, by the way, is very neat--certainly a place with a lot of people with a lot of privilege, but that's the place I learned to talk about privilege and ask critical questions and made some dear friends. I wouldn't be where I am today--trying to apply for international jobs through a portal that has a mediocre drop-down menu so that I can stay in Germany, which I fell in love with--without the support of Coe and its professors.

It is a nice University with a great student life. The level of teaching could be higher, but go anyway for the fun of it!

I flew in to Chicago and drove the last 5 hrs in a car rented from Avis. It's cheaper than the coach if you are two or more people to share the bill.

Academic
Course recommendations
I had Dr. Davilla, Dr. Beall and Dr. Morgan-Witte. They are all good and friendly teachers. If you choose a course with Dr. Beall please be aware that she'll give you a LOT of homework.

Less multiple choice test and more essays. Better coordination between classes, so that exams don't collide with each other.
