I wish I had known...
Wish I had considered more universities in Britain--Edinburgh just as good (or better) for English, and may have been more fun--bigger city. Also, some people were rude to me not because I was one nationality or another, but because I was only a temporary sstudent and they couldn't be bothered to spend time with me.

In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Strongly if you like small, student towns with a beautiful, yet quaint feel, and students who are just as likely to study as party. Also note there are more English students than Scottish students there.

If you attend, try to get a residence hall in town. They are older, prettier, and closer to the older students and pubs.
Great activites--rowing, football, etc.

“Great University in a Beautiful Setting”
Joseph W

St. Andrews is a beautiful town, with three beaches and atmospheric ruins around every corner. The university is small enough that you feel like you are a valued member of the community. The International Relations course is really interesting, incorporating a wide range of topics and theories.

It's worth it, and on the sea, but I'd probably want to go further north if I did it again.

Do travel, it's so much easier to travel around in Europe while you're there. There is ample time during breaks.

St Andrews is a lovely place and a wonderful university. Go to Edinburgh first and take a train, only one hour to get off at luchars railway satation. Take No.99 to St. Andrews bus station.
