Almost every people in Finland are very good at understanding and speaking English. Therefore I don't have big problem to do shopping or some paper works in Tampere. Plus, I am taking Finnish language course.

It is a pity I didn't learn finnish at all, but was too difficult. It is not an european language. For the English was very very useful to go in Finland cause almost everybody speak that very well.

All of the courses were offered in English, a huge advantage over trying to learn the materials in Finnish. The University also offered a series of survival courses that were positive to the environment.

Finnish is a very different language, pretty hard to learn. But even if you don't speak it, it won't be a big problem to live Finland (the knowledge of English there is pretty good)

The University of Tampere offers a wide range of possibility to learn foreign languages...english but not just it...russian, swedish, norwegian, spanish...so...just make a choice!

If you are going to Finland you should not be worried about Finnish language, because everybody speaks English. And by everybody I mean EVERYBODY, even old people.
