All of the courses were offered in English, a huge advantage over trying to learn the materials in Finnish. The University also offered a series of survival courses that were positive to the environment.

Not really, one has to be prepared to push their academic goals and Tampereen Illiopisto seemed to encourage this.

Si j'avais su

I only wish that I could have had prior opportunities to learn Finnish at my host University. It wasn't entirely important save the cultural benefits of prior knowledge of the language.

The host University seemed to go out of their way to accommodate their international students. That is a good thing.

Finland provides an excellent opportunity for a non-Finnish student to experience something entirely unique to Finland. Finland sits on the eastern border of Scandinavia, borders Russia and is right across the pond from mainland Europe. There is no excuse not to travel to places one might normally not consider as tourist destinations.
