Campus life is very good. You always get to meet nice people, from many different places, it's very interesting. So always benefit from this international environment to meet lots of people and broaden your sense of world.

Texas is a nice place, where lots of beauties take place. You may want to visit some natural parks, such as Big Bend, and also beaches, e.g. South Padre Island. If you are over there in February, don't miss Mardi Gras in New Orleans or even in Austin. You won't regret it.

Housing
Type of housing: Co-operative housing project ("Coop")
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: The same - in my coop!
Why?
Living in a coop is the best opportunity to get to know a lot of nice, local people as well as international students; it feels like a really nice community; you can always meet people if you choose to, or stay on your own; it is comparatively cheap and food is included; you have to work (all the services, like cooking, cleaning etc., are provided by the members i.e. inhabitants), but I cooked and it was fun!

Personal comments
I think living in a coop is the best choice in Austin - it is MUCH cheaper than living in a dorm (dorms are crappy..), and not as lonely as living in an apartment can sometimes be. In addition, the location was great (next to campus).

Large school in a wonderful city!

Overall
UT Austin is one of the highest-ranked public schools in the nation and offers a variety of strong courses (business & engineering are the university's best areas of study). Many of the professors in the business school have excellent industry connections and work experience, but entry-level courses can be extremely large and somewhat impersonal.

The American way of living is quite different from Italan, but there are no particular things that MUST be known in advance (apart from the fact that cheating in exams is considered one of the worst things a person can do)
