Personal spending habits
Because life in general is far more expensive in UK than in Spain. Food was specially costly since there were not many supermarkets or big stores around so there was only a place to go and shop and obviously, prices were higher due to lack of competence.

Language of instruction: English

My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)

Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
There´s quite a lot of slang, which I got the chance to learn because I used to live with local students. At the beginning it was a bit hard to understand every single word cause they speak really fast.
The language spoken by teachers at University was standard so this obviously made understanding a lot easier.

Final comments
The international students organization worked pretty well in the sense that it organised lots of day trips or visits to places like Scotland.
There´s a wide range of clubs to join. I signed up for the Irish Dancing club, where I was taught how to dance Irish set dancing. They also organised trips to other regions to dance in pubs or Ceilis.Lots of fun!

Housing
Type of housing: Headleased accommodation
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Personal comments
In my view, chosing to live on campus or independently, either in head-leased accommodation or in appartments in nearby towns very much depends on your age. The Halls of Residence, on Campus, were mainly for freshers or young international students; under 19.
Head-leased accommodation or private houses owned by University and some of them located on campus were basically full of postgraduate students and mature students, which was my case. At the time, I was 23 years old and most of my neighboors and housemates were of the same age.
