the cost of living is much higher in the US than in Belarus. The same is about food and phone costs. I travelled more in the US than in Belarus as well.

In the beginning it was more difficult, because I was not used to speciefic lexics (like linguistic, judicial), but in a couple of months I made a big improvement, and now I don't have any problems with English at all.

I spoke English before pretty good, visited United States couple times before. Didn't have any problems. There was a possibility to take an English Course for international students at UVM though.

For the cost we paid, I would expect more. The other thing was, that I was a bit older than the rest of students on that particular campus, so I would prefer people my age. Also, we did have to buy a meal plean, which was pretty expensive too and I didn't even use it all. There was a kitchen, but no kitchen utensils and it wasn't really worth to buy everything for one semester.
