I think the dorms are really expensive for what they are, it is small and youy must share your room.
There are lot of students who share a house, the most difficult is to find the good housemates.

C'mon its downtown Seattle! Bell- Town is the place to be and the U-district, whatever is open on the Ave after 10. Bellevue, 20 minutes away is a great spot for shopping and a change from Seattle.

there are phone cards that make communication cheap and easy through call plus. 3 cents a minute to australia, germany, switzerland

I could already speak the language before getting there and didn't really improve much. But could see that other students did learn and by the time they left their language skills have improved.
