An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:

Personal spending habits
I took many opportunities to travel further than I would normally, and my phone calls home were obviously more expensive. Generally the British pound to Swedish Kronor exchange helped me a lot, but those coming another time might find food and drink (especially alcohol) considerably more expensive than they are used to at home.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Living on campus allows you to appreciate the full exchange experience. You meet so many people through living on campus, which is one of the most important aspects of any international exchange.

I had my own room, which was nice because I had privacy when I wanted it, but there was always people around to socialize with too.

Do not forget to discover as much as you can in Scandinavia and to keep close contacts with locals. And even if learning swedish is not always funy, it might worth it when you'll be the only one speaking swedish on the job market !

Housing
Type of housing: corridor
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The accommodation was fine. There were other people to make friends and facilities don't deserve any particular complaint. The location could have been a little closer to the university, but the distance was not in any way unbearable.

Personal comments
Swedish people know there languages and speak English very well. That is why I did not have many problems with communicating.
I did follow a course in Swedish and was enthousiastic in the beginning, but the course went too slow and I llost interest. Better said my interest shifted to other more interesting things to do.
