Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
It was soooo cheap and I lived much closer to the University than I would have in the student rooms.

Living in a private home or apartment is not easy for someone to do if you don't already know someone in Uppsala. I was lucky enough to have a friend who had an extra room in her apartment that she owned, so that is why the costs were so low. It was great for me, but not an option for the majority of exchange students going to Uppsala. Take up your exchange program in getting you a student room because finding housing in Uppsala is very difficult.

Personal spending habits
Sweden is a more expensive country than France in general. There are costs related to the fact of being far from home like travel and communications. Alcohol plays a big role in the student life and in Sweden it's pretty expensive.

Rackabergsgarten accommodation was fairly basic (one room with basin, shared bathroom and kitchen) but was adequate. The corridors housed 5-10 students each and there was much socialising and general frivolity!

Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal social experience
Personal comments
As this is a university is more than 500 years old there is real student life, we could say that the city centre is the campus as there are university buildings everywhere is the centre. There twelve houses in the centre that belong to student organisation. This house or nations as they are called take care of most of the night life and activities. The only thing I have done besides the organised activities is travelling to east Europe and in Sweden. Travelling could be done at really low cost so recommend doing so.

Academic
Course recommendations
I was lucky enough to be able to enroll in a class for Swedish students, but the majority of exchange students can only take courses in English. I took one of these courses and it was also really good. We had a field trip to the parialment house in Stockholm. It was great fun!

No improvements, but you must be a person that takes initiative and wants to learn. You need to keep up on the suggested readings in order to pass your exams. I have never studied as much as I did in Sweden, but I learned a ton!!!
