People shouldf may be try to get along more often with local people because there are so much exchange students in this university that people tend to stay with them instead of trying to know swedish people.

My experience there was great. People who go there should be aware thet the weather is really weird and sometimes depressing but despite of that Uppsala is a great city to study and to have fun.Furthermore Sweden is a beautifull country where it it is really to travel in and also all the surrounding countries can easily be visited.

In my case to make the work everyday. But it is necesary to go out because the winter weather and the dark is very depresive. And very important: to improve the intruntion language.

It is very nice to have trips around Sweden. I think is very important to know more about the native culture and society. And Sweden could be very ship for to travel abroad.

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Personal savings
Other sources of funding:
Family
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
Although I did spend more than I normally would in most of these areas, it is understandable, as I wanted to take full advantage of being in a new country. That said, bring lots of money to Sweden because it does hurt your pocket book - gotta love those taxes.

Personal comments
Transportation was much more expensive than I expected on several fronts; public busses were incredibly so (even after living in New York City), and buying a bike to get around on is reasonable, but only if your lucky enough to buy just one (buy a good lock).

Not really!!! It was really nice to discover new things everyday. Moreover Sweden is a country that doesn't need particular "briefing" before to move there.

It is one of the best university in Europe. The town, the country, the international enviroment, in general, sets this Uppsala university as one of the best choice where to spend his/her own Erasmus

Work opportunities:
I worked, but it was illegal/cash in hand work
Personal spending habits
There were so many opportunities to do new and exciting activities that obviously cost money - I found it difficult to say no on many occassions. At home, I would be more likely to use greater discretion in my decision making.

I made contact with somebody from my host university who was studying at Uppsala before I arrived, and was able to make arrangements to buy some of her essential goods (eg. bike, bedding etc). Made life easier from the outset. I would definitely recommend trying this approach.

Academic
Course recommendations
Business Strategy Management is the best course I took there, really impressive. International Marketing is a good value course (measured by the amount of work it takes to get good grades). A huge percentage of students couldn't pass the Corporate Finance course but it's a very interesting one. Courses with essays (as opposed to exams) offer the best value.

It would have been better if there were more native English teachers, more case studies and better local student involvement.
