Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because it is cheaper and you have your own room. You do not need to share it with somebody else. but it is very good to meet people at the beginning and to be introduced to american or other international students. when you come in the middle of the year ( january), it is easier to have a room arranged so this is the easiest solution.

Personal comments
the dormitories for international are pretty bad (kind of a shame!!). the cleanliness is really awful. But they just built new dorms so you have to check that. The area is not safe because of the campus location downtown.

Personal spending habits
because housing and food are more expensive. there is no real student advantage when you travel compared to europe (no 12-25 years train card for example or this kind). usually means of transportation are expensive and the best way is to have your own car
