Course recommendations
The courses of the international program are in english and they helped me to get credits even when my German wasn't that good. Choose the classes as soon as the enrollment is open, they get filled-up really quick, given the huge amount of students at the WU. Take classes in German with regular students, it helps to understand their way of learning.

The number of students didn't allow everyone to get the classes one needed. I wish I had had someone expaining me the difference between a seminar a Proseminar, a Vorlesung, die Spezielle and so on. I understood it only at the end.

The WU is a good university if you are interested in a particular area and want to enrich your knowledge. If you don't know what you want, you will get by, but it will bring you nothing. However, if you do have plans and career options and are prepared to work hard for it, the WU might indeed be your excellent stepping stone.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Economics there and I think it was a great decision for my future. Vienna as a city is lovely, it is just waiting to be explored. Living there as a student is an unforgettable experience, because cultural activities, sports or languages are so many you actually won't have time to do them all!

When you love going to the theatre or listen to classicl music, go to Vienna. The opportunities for travelling are also extremely good.

Housing
Type of housing: Students Residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Residence
Why?
Because there is where you meet people who are on exchange and you can arrange thousands of plans and parties. Also it´s easy to get an idea of what subjects people are taking which always help to have a friend in the same subjects...

It was a dorm at the Prater, the suburb is not that good at night but it´s safe and many students live at the same dorm. There many subway and tram stations. The problem was that some "study rooms" were closed and they only opened for the cleaning women coffee.

Nothing so important, mybe only the fact that it is possible to rent a flat/room in the city and that it is rather cheap option.

My favourite places in Vienna was the Burggarten, where I used to go during spingtime with the other exchance students. My favourite nightspot was on the "Ring" and it was named Havana, there was really nice music and on Monday there was the student night. In Vienna there are alot of clubs downtown, like palais Eschenbach, a singular example of a disco in an historical palace. I miss walking downtown, eating in tipical Austrian restaurants like Siebenstern.
