There is really a lot to see not only in Cairo, but all over Egypt. I would definately recommend visiting this country at least once due to the diversity in almost everything. Also, the local people are very friendly and it is not difficult to talk to people and to create a circle of friends.

Is the gold standard for education in Egypt. With a very flexible program if courses, one can really learn alot especially when you also get to choose course of interest or maybe even get a minor degree. The university has one of the best campuses around the world and host various opportunities for learning, communal participation, along with a host of extracurricular activities.

Generally speaking, the American University of Cairo provides its study abroad students with very good housing facilities and they have dorms in another part of town that are apparently very satisfactory and offer all the necessary facilities and requirements. So far I have never heard any complaints about their housing.

AUC is a private University. On one side it was a new experience for me. Housing were out of campus but through University. Excellent location and staff. Maybe rules too stiff.

Favorite place to hang out all night smoke sheesha is Aruba cafe located of the 24th of July street. Favorite all night breakfast eatery, Roy County Kitchen, Can't get any more American than that in a foreign place. Many wonderful night spent there. Its located in the Cairo Marriot... Where the Casino are located also.
There is also a few great night spots in Mahandessen but they are sort of underground. So you got meet the right people.
