I wish I had known...
Not really, for it might have spoilt the surprise and innocence of experiencing. The only thing maybe: If you size in shoes is above 14, you will have trouble finding shoes in Thailand.

Academic:Benchmark for Thailand, in some areas maybe even through out Asia. The Asian background of the Institute allows you to meet Asian cultures at one place: all neighbouring countries, plus India, Bangladesh, former SUnion, Philippines, etc.

If you want to go here, be aware of the different climate, the rather patience demanding culture of "mai pin rai" (don't worry/never mind), and the spicey food, which can be complemented with other dishes. It is a total different culture and you may either like it, or really dislike it. Enjoy and travel the whole country!

The library is too small. Often have to go to other university libraries in downtown bkk, it takes about an hour or more to go to e.g. Chulalongkorn library, so can be quite time consuming. Also, the internet connection in the student dorms is very bad. Super slow. I think this a bad and strange thing for an institute that prides itself of being a leading technology institute; the internet speed in the student dorms is like you used a 14k modem.... Very annoying, I tell you.

The library is quite pathetic. Much too small to be a university library. You basically have to rely on books from other university libraries around BKK. It can take a lot of time though to go to other libraries and find books. The staff at AIT library were friendly and helpful though. The library is just to small. The AIT does however live up to excellent academic standards in terms of teaching and course content.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Shared Appartment
Why?
Since my studies will be over by the end of my time at AIT, I would like to start working. Sharing an app. has always been a good experience so far.

The housing is alright, when not stying at the standard rooms, which are small and without proper ventilation. If living at single or double room app. it becomes more spacious and airy. Always keep in mind that you are not living in central Europe :-)

Many more possibilities to live on campus. Finally, after much negotiating, I ended up in a nice 3 bedroom house with 2 fellow students

The initial accomodation we got was actually not good at all. A small bed, a small desk and a small cubboard is all we got. Moreover, a room without airconditioning. In Europe it sounds luxury, In Bangkok at the other hand a necessity!
