I spoke english well before i went to my exchange semester at Bentley college. But I really benefited from talking to the american students. I am sure that my conversational english improved a lot by talking to american students

All of it was in English. There are a lot of international students speaking lots of different languages - very cosmopolitan, everyone can assimilate.
I took Spanish for the first time and have now become quite fluent.
