Eating out is very cheap but rather unhealthy. As soon as you want to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, everything gets expensive though.
Calling is cheap using skype or similar services, but mobile phone contracts are far more expensive than the european average.

The university ID let's you use all public transportation for free. The cheapest way of travelling is using the Greyhound bus service, or JetBlue.com for cheap flights. The school offers some trips around Thanksgiving and Spring break.
