Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
I ended up living in campus residence at a later stage. It is a great way of meeting and learning from other students.

My initial host family accommodation was not good but the student residence was great. However, accommodation is one of the biggest problems in Copenhagen especially for students.

As an international student - you have to go to "Student House!" There are tonnes of really nice bars and cafes. We went to Enzo, Parkcafe and The Globe a lot. Also if you are staying in Valby, check out the Guinness Pub on Valby Langgade, they used to give girls free beer on a tuesday night!

Academic
Course recommendations
Be ready to work a lot in teams, which is very interesting, because you can meet new people and discover other working methods. Be also ready to read a lot for each class!!

No because Danish academic methods are different from French ones, and it is very interesting to work the way they do.

It is different to my home university. The have other ways of examination such as 24 houre take home exams, and oral exam based on synopsis. All together i think the level of university is much more higher and they expect a lot of readings.

I would suggest to rent a car and travel from Copenhagen to oslo- Bergen- look at one Fjord( Flammfjord)- National Park on the way to Sweden- Stockholm- Gotherburg- and back to Copenhagen. Take your bike from home are buy one there, because everyone is going by bike and it is the cheaperst way to move around town.

For boys: Danish girls look absolutely gorgeous - be prepared!!! For girls: save some extra money for shopping (it is expensive, but -gosh- it is sooo cool!)

Be open-minded for new teaching methods. Thinking (which means everything but learning by heart) is absolutely required!

The university organises everything perfectly. Despite of one thing: travelling. Only one trip was organised (to Oslo on a party boat). I would recommend to books ome flights with low cost airlines with some fellow students to Stockholm and Helsinki. If you have one week off, rent a car (expensive, but worth it, if you are 4 people) and drive through Denmark. The landscape is gorgeous! Other than that: be repared for a great academic and social life in Copenhagen ;)

Find out whether the host university offers any subjects that you want to study. Sometimes classes are either too full or being cancelled

Highly recommended. The International staff are very friendly and helpful. Wide range of activities are organised for the exchange students.

Put some efforts in getting to know the Danes. After a few drinks, they will become very friendly and want to get to know you. But breaking the first step is difficult
