He should had done research about political abuse of psychiatry , sluggish schizo like the Rosenham experiment and sent someone for undercover. It is a great experience to be exposed to a new life and culture, but being too caught up with it might neglect the studies. There should be a balance in time management with enjoying academic life and social life.

I strongly suggest Western Australia as a place to go, just because the people are so friendly and comforting, and the city of Perth is a great size (not too big and not too small).

Perth is a gorgeous city but relatively isolated compared to the rest of Australia. Teachers are very helpful however.
