If you are a regular student of undergraduate you may want to share with other students at a dorm or big appartment. It is expensive housing here. However, standard of life is pretty good if you pay a little bit more. It is actually a very high standard compared to other cities in the US.

Save from the small stuff. Look for sales, bargains and promotions. You would not believe the difference in price. And how muh you can save.
You need to walk around and know the place before spending in the store next door. One tip, the food stores around the university are outreageously more expensive than other food stores.

My phone bill reach 4 digit number one months because I was calling an internet service provider not exactly on a local line. It's actually very easy to get confused. There are several local area phone zones with different rates. So be careful and do your homework before dialing a "local" number.
