All the lectures were in English, and lot of local folks speak English, so I didn't realy need to learn French

I spoke mostly French at home and with teachers and assistants. Since most social activities I attended were organized specifically for exchange students, I spoke a lot of English in these situations.

Switzerland is a small country. It is not difficult to visit most of it and from there you can reach the european capitals easily.
