Ecole des Mines de Nantes (EMN)

This engineering school, which has now merged with Telecom Bretagne to become IMT Atlantique, is a rising star in terms of teaching quality and students training. Its major focus is to provide the students with general engineering knowledge (including physics, enconomy, computing...), who will then acquire specific knowledge in several different specialties (from computer science, to environmental engineering, along with nuclear and even health engineering). 
The student life is rich with artistic and cultural events organized regularly, such as concerts and initiation to games. Sport is also part of the student life as it is firstly compulsory in the school syllabus, adding to this different competitions thoughout the year.

Issue de la fusion des écoles Mines Nantes et Télécom Bretagne, IMT Atlantique Bretagne-Pays de la Loire est la première école « Mines-Télécom» de l’IMT. En tant que Grande Ecole d’ingénieur généraliste, elle a pour ambition d’associer le numérique et l’énergie pour transformer la société et l’industrie, par la formation, la recherche et l’innovation et d’être, à l’international, l’établissement d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche français de référence dans ce domaine.

Ecole qui a fusionné avec télécom Bretagne pour former IMT Atlantique. Grande Ecole généraliste surtout axé sur l'environnement et l'informatique (dev-web, machine learning, sécurité réseau, objets connectés, IHM...), mais aussi filière de management, de robotique, de bio-médicale. Beaucoup de lien avec les entreprises, très grande majorité de profs enseignant-chercheur.

L'école propose une formation d'ingénieur généraliste avec un tronc commun très varié en première année, puis une spécialisation dans un ou plusieurs domaines durant la deuxième et troisième année.

Most teachers are pedagogical and very qualified in their field. Students are used to work in groups and quick to adapt to new knowledge, methods and environment.
