I think that even if the residence is a bit expensive it is a great opportunity in order to enter in international-students life. It is a big university with lots of foreign people. One of the best experiences I have ever had.

Studing at Rotterdam is a trade off between the quality of Erasmus and the boring of the student life there. It is a very good university but may be it is not the most nice place on the world.

Final comments
Think twice if you are going there only for having fun and a good international experience, maybe you can find a better place in this sence. BUT if you are looking a first class university doesnt matter what it takes, go.

Overall
Studying in EUR means that you are ready to fight to stay inside. This means always studying and making sure you are up to date with course material. EUR also offers a fun campus with amazing study places and cozy areas to dine or drink.
