We mostly talked in english. We were very outgoing to the community although they are normally withdrawn.

In Finland, I didn't have problems with communicating people because most of them knew English. On the other hand, I wanted to learn their language because of my interest. Finnish was so different than any of the languages I ever heard. I took a course to learn and bhad chance to practice with my Finnish friends.
