At the beginning it was difficult to understand the slang of all the local students so I asked when I did not get the meaning of words or special sentences. It was helpful that ESC La Rochelle offered all the foreign students a language course during the first two weeks.

At the beginning it was difficult to understand everything, because french is often mixed with slang expressions, but after a while, I get used to the verbs and expressions and today, I think I am fluent in french.

At the beginning it was difficult to understand everybody and to talk, but after a few months it was quite easy to understand the local people and after that it became easier to talk with them.
