I wish I had brought extra umbrellas. It is always raining in Aachen, and I always seem to misplace my umbrella. I wish that I had about 20 extra.

Personal recommendation
It is hard to find relative English courses toward your degree in the United States. I believe if you are going to come to Aachen to study, you should have a general knowledge of the German language. They do have a language course offered to help, but you should definately already have a background in the language. This will enable you to take classes in German and to speak with the other students and general public. I think it would make your stay much more pleasant and would ease your daily tasks.

Trains in Germany are much cheaper when traveling in groups. They have specials for 2 to 5 people. If you are planning on doing weekend travel or day trips, always try to find a group to go with you. Also, if you are coming from the US and want to travel in Europe quite a bit, I recommend the Eurail passes. I used the German Eurail Pass. It was worth every penny!! I traveled all over Germany for 10 days and visited about 20 cities. I only had to pay about $220. It would have been so much more expensive if I would have simply bought each ticket separately.

Aachen is a wonderful city to travell. It is near many capitals of Europe as Paris (3 hours by fast train), Brussel (1,5 hour by car) or Maastricht (more or less 2,5 hours by train). The cost of travelling is not so expensive for students. Have fun and go!

How can you describe an experience that’s truly incredible? That’s the challenge I was faced with when trying to encapsulate what it was like to work with Goabroadchina on my year abroad in China. It’s been 10 months since I returned from that amazing experience, and even now, I can’t get the smile off my face as I reflect on all the awesome memories I made over there.
To be honest, I was scared at first, but once I got to know everyone, my nervousness turned into we're all in it together attitude. The people on Go Abroad China provided a network of support and encouragement throughout my time abroad that helped me become more confident and helped me through difficult situations. I'm not disappointed by my decision to have left for China, and I'm happy that I've taken advantage of everything Go abroad China has offered! There are so many opportunities out there for students to experience amazing places around the world –– don't let fear or apprehension keep you from trying something new! You'll be not disappointed!

“Great Study Programs, with intensive practicals”

Overall
The university offers a variety of courses and is known for offering many practicals, which in my opinion help students better understand the theoretical knowledge gained. The professors and staff are very open and welcoming to any inquires from the students. I am studying in the other Fachhochschule Aachen campus, located in the city of Jülich, and find the campus easy to navigate through. The campus also offers some sport facilities such as a football pitch, a beach volleyball court and table tennis tables.
