“Small and familiar university”
Konstantin R
Germany, Undergraduate
Secretarial Studies, 2020
Overall
Small university with only about 6000 students in total and 1500 economy students.
You can always talk to the professors and they help you with your problem.
Classes vary from the biggest ones with about 180 students in one room to only 10 students in one room.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because most of the other exchange students lives in a campus, this way it is a lot better to communicate with them , have parties etc :)

Accomondation really varies alot as there are many *wohnheims*, but to be honest all you really need is a place where to sleep, eat and study in peace. And peace-part is really up to your neighbours:) Mine were really nice..

Personal comments
OK that this could be arranged, but negative that I had to pay for the full semester (6 months) although I only stayed for 5 months. Also, be sure to check when you can get your key, otherwise you might have to wait for a day or so to get in to your appartment.

Other sources of funding:
Family<br>
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work
Personal spending habits
Costs of living in Germany and prices of food are slightly lower than in Finland. At the same time I wanted to take the chance to travel and look around so I clearly spent more money on that than I should have if in Finland.

Interaction with local students
Personal comments
Academic life is just according to the way the law of this country is, so there's nothing one could do about it. You might just realise how different educational systems can be in different countries.

My favourite bar: Murphy's Law. Irish, of course. Don't miss the Plärre in beginning of May. It's an amusement park open for a week with a lot of people and happenings.
