“Great quality of teaching, bad organisation”
Vladislav D
Germany, Undergraduate
Financial Management, 2022
Overall
Since 2018 I am student at the FHWS. I am studying international Management, now with focuses in Finance and Financial Services. The education in that framework is excellent.
It is an university in the centre of Germany, in Würzburg. Here the practice is really important, so we are taught by professionals coming from the active business environment. They know what matters and teach in an understandable and qualitative espectacular way. The theory can be explained by their experiences and projects can be organised close to reality.
Nevertheless, the organisation sometimes is difficult. Sometimes it is not clear, when and what something will take place or wich deadline need to be met or who shall be the person responsible for a specific area of interest.
The communication normally function fast and well. There are plenty technological advancements and the university is focusing now on the digital development of the university.
Further we have many international students and the university focuses on creating English courses to adapt to the international always even more narrow-growing field as a result to globalization.
As input of trends, the university adapts pretty fast and offers courses, that are highly important for the future e.g. AI or E-commerce.
Almost all of the professors have a doctor's degree and commonly we have guest lectures from abroad.
Referring to the international framework, the university tries to motivate the students to pass part of their studies abroad, like the exchange semesters or internships in international companies.
All in all the university is a really good one and deserves it's ranking of 4 stars out of 5.

The university of Wuerzburg organises a lot of activities and does its best to welcome the erasmus students. They also pay some costs for the activities and sightseeing.German tutors organises meeting with other students from the university and so everything is organised to make you feel at home and improve your social life.

For me the University was not that important, the life besides play a more important role as I did not have to follow a lot of courses. But the fact that we were not so many Erasmus Students in this university was a good point. It is better to get to know each other.

Enjoy the experience, you won't regret it. It is preferrable to open a bank account in the country. You will save transaction costs. Try to do a lot of social activities and to meet a lot of people.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because you can get to know a lot of other students living on the campus and you quickly can integrate yourself into the community.

Personal comments
Two important comments:
1. It was very easy to get an appartment on the campus thanks to the help of the host university, which is very important if you want to move to a place where you dont know anybody!
2. The university arranged the appartments in a way that most of the international students lived on the same part of the campus, which is also great since you find people who are in the same situation as you are: you need to find new friends.

“Overall a good university”
Denis N
Spain, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2021
Overall
The University has good and qualified professors with long experience in the practical sphere of their subject - Which gives you a big advantage in terms of practical knowledge, since most universities focus mainly on the theoretical aspects of the subjects. If your main focus is to work after your studies this uni is perfect for you.
The first few semesters begin quite chaotic and demanding, but after a while you get used to it and learn a lot about studying in general and even more about yourself.
Even more useful is the preparation course for the Bachelor Thesis, in which you have to write a approximately ten page thesis to a subject, in order to prepare you for the task of writing your Bachelor Thesis.
But on the contrary in terms of organisation and help to beginner students this university is not the best choice - Mainly every student has to organize himself and there is close to no help from the uni itself.
Furthermore you are assigned to a group which has a fixed week schedule, but since you simply can go to the classes of another group this is not a big deal.
In terms of free time usage there are around 10-12 nightclubs and countless small bars with German beer - Without mentioning the countless sports clubs and gyms.
