If you are outgoing, internationally open-minded, and have some money to spend then this is a good place for you. I'm sure you could go to FC on a budget but your social life would suffer.

I would stronly recommend this university. It is in a fabulous location with the ability to travel all over. Milan Itlay is an hour away, the beachs of Italy are not far and the mountains of Swizterland and Italy are right at your disposable. I went skiing all the time in the winter and met the most wonderful people.

The only thing I would warn is Switzerland is very expensive. Living there and keeping up with the life style of the natives is quite a finiacial task...even a small glass of coke will cost you at least $2.00...be prepared to spend a lot...no matter how well you think you can budget!

Course recommendations
Classes are pretty easy if you are used to challenging course. I took business courses that I thought were ridiculously easy. One part that was difficult though were the Italian teachers, who I thought were horrible at teaching. Try to get a good idea of the teacher you are going to take before picking a class. You may get someone that cant speak well or teach worth a damn!

Living in Florida, my wonderful 6 "res-mates" and I went out to OK BAr almost everynite because it is directly accross the street from us...Its a taxi bar/gas station but we loved it and we got to know the owner really well...Other than that there was Square, good times on Friday and then the Pub up the road from school. Lugano is wonderful but finding a regular spot is key. Other info?? Its really expensive, Manor is amazing...they have everything but its easy to spend a ton of money there. Some of the kids that go to FC are a bit stuck up because they have so much money but you'll get that with many foreign private schools. Other than that, its a wonderful time...Highly recommended :)

I lived in the Florida residence which were basically single occupancy apartments. Although it was a little bit of a hike to campus or to town (10-15 minutes), Florida is equipped with refridgerators, stoves, private bathrooms and AC. It was a great way to meet other kids in the program.

Classes were taught in English and was the predominantly spoken language when hanging out with other Franklin students. Italian is the most common language spoken in Lugano, but most locals speak at least some English or French (they prefer French, sometimes pretend to not understand English, and probably won't answer you if you try to speak German to them). During travel to some more remote areas of Switzerland where German was more common and less people spoke English it was more of a struggle - however nothing that couldn't be handled.
