Enjoy this country and travel as much as possible, but also try to have a regular life in Sao Paulo, because this experience will be so different from your homecountry. You will find many, many new friends there. Compared to many other universities you will have many contacts with locals.

Good opportunities, if you know to take advantage of them
Lorena E
Brazil, Undergraduate
Law, 2021
Overall
This school is maybe more renowned for the graduate courses than the undergraduate ones, but they're still very good. The professors in the law school tend to be young and very academically productive. There used to be a leaning towards business law but it's since become more balanced, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Still, you can take classes in the business and economics schools which is very valuable.

Do not expect too much regarding the academics. Teachers are in general very nice & help you if you ask them!

I wish I had known...
1) Portuguese language 2) that Brazil and Sao Paulo (or the part of the city you`ll stay in - Bela Vista, Jardim Paulisa cause both are close to FGV) are not dangerous. I was really afraid of going there due to violence level but nothing really bad happened to me and the majority of echange students. Of course you have to be careful but it wasn`t so bad as I expected.
