Prices in Poland are comprable to those in Brazil. But for many exchange students Brazil was as cheap as water. Of course you`ll spend more on nightlife and travel as you`ll do it more often than at home. But the prices are ok.

Computer labs at the university are great so you don`t have to take your notebook with you cause there`s no problem with Internet and computers at FGV.
You can withdraw money form several ATM machines - I did it with Bradesco (ATM at the university at 4th floor), Banco do Brasil, Citibank, Bank of Boston (all banks you can find at Avenida Paulista - 2 min walk from FGV)

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
In an apartment or house you have the oportunity to select people you want to know and to have all privacy you need. Living in house with your friends or with selected unknown people is like a family!

"Gringolandia" is the best house I lived. We lived in 7 to 15 people from all of the world changing at each 6 months, in a multicultural and continous exchange of experiences. The house was in a quite good area of Sao Paulo and 4 nice securities helped us in every problem. The Agenda was Grill&Party!!!

Academic
Course recommendations
The brazilian teachers are better than the international ones. Do not take to many courses with these ones. Sigmar Malvezzi, Ibere Arco e Flexa, Paulo Standerski, David Hastings and Tedeschi are great! There are also very popular brazilian politicians teaching at GV.

The University is not very academic. The quality of courses and teachers differs very much. Especelly for exchange students there are some very useless courses!

Basic life in Brazil is much cheaper than in any european country due to a weakness of the Real. The nightlife and traveling is also much cheaper than in Europe, but you will have so many oppertunities and you will love it so much that you spend much more for this!

Brazilian food is so good, that you will gain a lot of weight. By avoiding this you can save a lot of money! (No Churrascarias).

As a MBA student at Fundacao Getulio Vargas, I could not have been more satisfied. The level of quality of the programs and professors is admirable. I had the pleasure to acquire mentors that shaped my career and were responsible for the professional I am today. Highly recommend!
