At the beginning it was very hard on the college, because I didn't have a lot of experience in technical english. But after some week it was o.k. You learn every day new words and it becomes better from one week to the other. In the social life it was ok because you improve day per day because you speak every day english.

it was really interesting, as you're improving very quickly your english, and learning at the same time some basics of Irish language (Gaelic)

I had studied English for 10 years before I had gone for my Erasmus studies. But only there I realised that every language has many levels and can be taught only by living in the language. Irish has not been spoken much in Ireland anymore. There were some regions in the south and the west of the country where I met Irish.

I have found worrying levels of superficiality in about 80% percent of the people I have spoken to during my studies abroad.
So all the communication problems have been connected to WHAT can I talk to these guys rather than HOW.

In the beginning some Irish accents can be a little hard to understand, but there were never any problems understanding the teachers.
