This university has a great location, the city is very international and there are tons of things to see and do. The courses were very interesting and I really enjoyed the interaction with teachers. This is just a really good university that I highly recommend.

It's very easy to travel from Washington DC to others city on the east coast but don't hesitate to compare geryhound buses and flight tickets because you can pay 10$ more by air but save 9 or 10 hours which is good for weekends.(website:studentuniverse) One last thing if you want to go to NY take the "chinatown buses", it's very unexpensive.

No, I was well documented about the country and university before I went, and had met people who had told me about the student life in Georgetown

you have to go if you are curious about American culture. If you have no prejudices against it, you will learn to appreciate it, and the quality of studies, and the tremendous amount of opportunities that you can take there (in Dc : internships in governmental organisms or NGo's, student activities and sports,...)

“Georgetown's MBA Program-Tough but outstanding”
Mary C

Overall
I chose Georgetown's MBA for a variety of reasons, but at the time I was concerned because I thought the quality education and what I was getting for the extremely high cost might be less than I would get at a little bit higher ranked MBA program. Georgetown was ranked 22 when I started. Nothing could be further from the truth. Georgetown is an especially great program for someone seeking international perspectives and experience. I got phenomenal international experience and overall great opportunities to work with very dedicated and amazing professors, awesome students on team projects, and it was just an amazing experience. I have taken a lot with students in other programs that were ranked higher, and I believe if anything, Georgetown is more demanding and strenuous, and provides better international opportunities in particular. Great marketing program. So glad I stayed local in DC and went to Georgetown.

Pros
Los of opportunities to take classes as you change class schedule 4 times a year, very international, great marketing program
Cons
It is a smaller program than some, and younger, so fewer alumni than some other programs

Take extra care when obtaining the VISA to get to the USA! You'll need to refer to the Univeristy. It's a process that requires time.

Georgetown is one of the most beatutiful campus in the USA. If you are interested in politics, consider this university seriously. It's the oldest and most important in the country.

Great experience. Be aware that being in a graduate program is very demanding and very much different from being in an undergradute one. Time management is essential!

Excellent for all those interested in international affairs, not only for its academic program but also its location and the fact that many of the professors are also practitioners at Government agencies, International Organizations, Thinks Tanks and the NGO sector.

Recommend getting to DC early in the summer to look for accomodation off-campus as good places nearby Georgetown University are scarce. It pays to live near a Metro station.

I'd wish I had been more familiar with the American educational system and American way of life in general. It took me over six months to understand and become familiar with the country. I think I'd had been much better off had I known what I was going to find in the US before hand.

Decide before hand which courses you'd like to take. Don't hesitate to ask professors for the syllabus and talk to them if you have any doubts.
