Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
We were eight girls sharing a big flat, and sometimes it has been quiet difficult to agree between us. I would have prefered to share my accommodation with only one or two other girls.

Personal comments
Everything we needed was provided for our every day life in the flat. I can not really complain about it. As I said the only problem was to live with seven other girls. But at the end, I think that it has been a pretty good experience, I mean that I had to learn how to live with people from different culture with different habits.

“Good University but not for eveybody.”

Overall
My overall feelings about this university are frankly good, but I understand all the people who say it's not something they expected.
The university itself is not strict. It gives the student plenty of free time to complete assigned tasks. The system is based on learning and exploring topics on your own in your free time, which is why we have so much of it. Teachers are willing to help, but only if you are motivated to work. No one will push you to learn if you don't want to. That's why many people grumble about the level of knowledge they have. For me, it works very well, as I am motivated to learn and I learn myself. Professors provide a lot of study materials that can be very helpful in learning about topics. Overall, I like the university, but maybe if it was more subdued, I would give it a higher score. Student life is fine, the student union organizes many events that you can participate in. The whole campus is very modern and suitable for everyone. The university has many buildings where students can enter and have fun/study.

The place where I was living was a quiet small city; pubs do not have anything special. So I did not really enjoy the nightlife, unless when I was going to biggest towns, and still... But anyway it was nice to compare the nightlife in Finland to the London one for instance. On the other hand, I had many activities to do. My university proposed many sports activities with the students, everytime I had nothing to do, I was going to relax my self in the sporting complex.

if you are going in the winter, take plenty of warm clothes, dress like an onion (lots of layers). The Fins are really friendly if not a little quiet, but once they are your friends they are friends for life! Kiitos is thank you, you will use that a lot! No trip to Finland would be complete without a visit to the Sauna! and if you do go in the winter try swimming in the frozen lake! warning though it is not for the feighnt hearted!

Course recommendations
The courses I took were Basics of Marketing, International Marketing and Strategic Management. I have a little regret that studying in my home university dad not allow me to take also Accountancy and International Economy courses.

As for me everything was really good: a lot of practical examples, really experienced and friendly teachers, interesting practical tasks&projects, a lot of work provided in groups, case studies, good supporting base (books, PCs, Internet, tutors etc.). So I just wish this level do not become lower. The only thing I would improve is exams. They have to be more specified to the course taken.

In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
In this country, you have too much free time, so that's good for getting good academic skills, and more over you have free time for another activities like travelling, but if you stay quiet maybe you'd be bored. If you are an active person, I recommend this university fully.
