Definitely the Kompassen pub downtown, and for those who would like to dance : Mortensson and Bengtsson (this one has free entrance). And of course Karen, the Students pub on the campus!

Food is more expensive than in Austria and you have to buy some basic stuff which you normally have already at home; alcohol and going out is for sure more expensive than in Austria

Despite the fact that there's a lack of enough housing in Halmstad, "student union" that is responsible for student affairs, does its best to find somewhere to stay

hard to practice swedish on campus, becourse everyone speaks English fluently. Due to social activities one has the chance to learn and speak Swedish pretty easily.
