Don't drink every night, if you do, buy euro shopper and get drunk before you go to the clubs. The schoolgirl was a bit more spendy than expected, but I guess she has to do what she has to do.

Food in general is cheaper in Holland than in Finland but I spent no money on it in Finland, which is why I personally categorised it as more expensive than at home. It was relatively the same case with housing and telephony. Travel is less expensive because the student accommodation is quite close to both the school and Amsterdam centre.

You have to pay one semester rent and deposit at once, which is a lot of money. You need to have savings or support to afford that. (in case you take a student room from Hogeschool)

In host country, everything was witihn walking distance, as everything you needed was in Canterbury. Amsterdam has a better nightlife, and so travel costs were higher here.

It was more expensive, because I was calling or being called internationally, and because plane flights home added up, and because I wanted to enjoy my time there!
