Try not to get carried away with taking obscure courses as the teaching methods are different and you tend to learn more if you have a basic idea about the subject previous to your arrival.

Initially it was very unclear what Humboldt University required of their Erasmus students. A better breifing for both the exchange students and the recieving lecturers would help.
The courses are extremely good organised. Language lessons are normally paid...not very expensive....the rest is free and you can find really all the subjects.

arriving in Berlin without any knowledge of german language could be a problem if you want to follow the courses in the university. anyway, once you began the academic life you have to be follow all the lessons: the frequency is compusory 75%.
A lot of english language ones are available for those not strong on the old germanic side of the fence. As these courses didnt count towards my degree classification I hit an intellectual highpoint with "Mediation and Negotiation Management"... got a 1st - shock / horror!

No pastoral care, get used to it... German Uni's have 30,000 students at a minimum - what'd you expect?
To do every homework (written papers) on time, or even before, in order to having all califications and certifications on time

no, because german system is for me better than the spanish model of learning. German system is more based on practice rather than in Theory. In spein occur the contrary case
