Make sure go to Algarve,
Do not miss Coimbra festival in may,
Do not miss "Carnaval" in February in Alçobaça,
Eat Pasteis de Belem,
Surf,
Do not sit in the back of the bus after midnight, sit infront seats.

“Best university in Portugal”
Ruben S
Italy, Undergraduate
Engineering, Mechanical, 2021
Overall
Although it's a very classical way of teaching, students normally complement it with online learning and achieve great results. Currently, I'm doing Erasmus at Polito, a higher ranking university, and I can say that I have the necessary basis to be successful.

“Instituto Superior Técnico”
Pedro M

Overall
While the Portuguese most renowned school of engineering and technology, Técnico is nation-wide famous. You'll find three campi with a lot of facilities However, its relative quality is usually overrated by the faculty staff

Pros
Demanding education, contact with international universities and students, a Técnico diploma is very well regarded in Portugal.
Cons
Constant environment of self-bragging from most people, who live in a "bubble" where Técnico is the best and the others are worse. While, in the meantime, Técnico may be better in terms of academic research but the quality of teaching is the same or worse

“"Best" in Portugal, no name school outside Portugal”
Ana S
Germany, Graduate
, 2023
Overall
It is the leading university for engineering in Portugal.
No name school outside Portugal.
Too much theory, no mandatory internships or practice, just projects that have nothing to do with what you can expect at a company.
Professors can be really trash (e.g. not knowing how to calculate process yield during an oral evaluation of the main project course for chemical engineering).
Management does not act on any feedback.
Professors are too busy to supervise any thesis but they still have a full semester thesis that takes usually much longer than one semester.
