Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because you get to share with 'locals' and this way you gain a better understanding of the culture.

ITAM does not have any 'on-campus' accomodation, as most people live at home or rent privately, however they will do their utmost to place you in a shared apartment with other students, usually a shared house or apartment (single-sex) the international office at ITAM is really helpful and the staff able to advise. If you want to find your own accommodation that is also possible but note it is difficult to find short-term lets, like in any city. The costs vary but cheap compared to Europe - it is best to choose to location over cost, as you don't want to be far away from the uni.

even though maybe overpriced for mexico, still cheaper than europe, and for someone who is new to town it is hard to find something independently. All housing offerd by the host university is located very close to the university, which is very important for mexico city.

there are also rooms directly on campus at ITAM, but honestly I have never seen them. Anyway there are a couple of "student houses" around the campus which are comparingly cheap and fun to live in

Housing
Type of housing: student hostel
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why?
We were only exchange students in the hostel. Even though we communicated in Spanish, noone really could speak the language perfectly. I think I would have learned it way better with a family

I enjoyed living in a flat with other two ERASMUS students, and I had no problems at all in living outside the campus as the area was a safe one.
