Poor administrative organisation and hit or miss professors
Lauren W
Germany, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2022
Overall
The administrative organisation at Jacobs is one of the most disorganised administrations I've ever encountered, especially considering the small size of the university. The staff are not helpful and they do not seem to truly care about their students. The professors vary between excellent and downright awful. This COVID the university became much worse. There are some top notch professors and courses but only few and far between, The food is practically inedible.

Let's see how the uni manages

Overall
Hello,

To all of you, I can say that Jacobs is a really closed community. You will get to know all 600 or so people on campus in 2 months at the most. Even if you want to socialize outside, it is kind of difficult as you need to travel by train and your taxi back will be 40+ euro.

The education there is sound. From time to time they hire shit educators (not calling them professors on purpose), For most of the programs related to maths and sciences you will be fine.

They also do not tell you that people go shit nutz in this environment. There were suicides(people so frustrated that they jumped out of a window) and attempts over my years there.

If you want to chose another uni, please do so. Jacobs is not the place for a sane person.
